An extremely picturesque cottage perched on the side of a hill at one end of the hamlet of Crestes.
Candle-lit suppers on the balcony accompanied by a chorus of owls echoing around the valley - magical and unforgettable. Here one can walk all day in every direction and possibly not see another person - quite incredible in this day and age. The hill overlooks the Lot Valley and there are paths meandering down to the riverside – for those who love a good walk.
The medieval village of Montsalvy has all the normal shopping facilities and is about 15 minutes drive away. Le Fel has two very good and interesting restaurants and tennis courts about 10 minutes drive away, or 30 minute walk through the woods.
The cottage is over 200 years old and has been renovated sympathetically but still retains a certain feeling of antiquity.
The lower entrance has a staircase up to an open-plan living area with new comfortable settee and chairs, log burning stove and UK TV and DVD player, a dining table and chairs, and a fitted kitchen with fridge and cooker alongside. A French window leads onto the balcony with magnificent views. Table and chairs are provided on the balcony for al fresco meals under the unpolluted skies. On the ground floor is a shower, WC and hand basin - also a washing machine. Upstairs there are the two bedrooms, one a double bedroom leading to a second bedroom with twin beds. Bed linen and towels and pool towels are provided.
The very private 8 metre by 4 metre pool has a terrace with tables and chairs and of course sun beds. All services are included. There is parking for 2 cars.
So very quiet and absolutely tranquil.
