LE GRANGE

Le Grange is an old stone cottage located in the charming and historic riverside part of Cassinouze village on the River Lot. The cottage has recently been renovated by local craftsmen and is beautifully redecorated and furnished to a high standard.

The cottage is located within five minutes of the ancient village of Vieillevie which has a delightful restaurant with a beautiful wisteria-covered riverside terrace, café, and local village store which sells fresh bread and croissants daily.

The picturesque hilltop hamlet of Le Fel is 10 minutes away with restaurants, vineyards, and tennis courts. The village of Entraygues-sur-Truyere where the Lot and the Truyere converge is only 20 minutes away and offers full services including shopping, cafés, restaurants, post office, bank, etc. In the opposite direction is Grande Vabre and the beautiful little town of Marcillac.

The accommodation is on two levels. The front door opens into an attractive open living area with comfortable settee and chairs and a wood burning stove. The open plan layout encompasses the well equipped kitchen including fridge, cooker and microwave oven. UK satellite TV and DVD player are installed. French windows lead out to a south facing open terrace with tables and chairs. Beyond the lounge is an en-suite bedroom with a large double bed. The separate bathroom has a shower, basin and WC.

Upstairs on an open galleried mezzanine floor is a good sized bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with WC.

The Lot River is just a short walking distance from the front door of the cottage. In addition, for the sole use of guests, there is a swimming pool between the trees in its own natural surroundings and within the upper garden overlooking the river.

The cottage is located just 10 minutes from Conques, which dates back to the 9th century and is magnificently preserved. Classified among the most beautiful villages in France and is a UNESCO “World Heritage Site”, Conques is also a major staging post on the spiritual path to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

This is a unique cottage which, for this its first year, will delight and enchant its visitors.
