Caramaurel is a lovely country house with an almost colonial touch to it. Its design is intriguing and little exciting. Owned by a Parisian family it has the layout, ambience and capacity for an extended family of up to 8 (plus a baby) or a quieter relaxing time for 4 people or fewer.

The main entrance hall leads into the large lounge /dining room which has a wood burning stove, TV and DVD and is very comfortable for eight guests. There is a well equipped kitchen adjacent to a large utility room with fridge freezer and washing and drying machines.

There are four bedrooms - one with a cot - all with double beds and wardrobes. They all have en-suite bathrooms with showers. The main bedroom also has a bathroom with a bath. Electric central heating is installed throughout the house.

A really nice feature is that all the rooms open out on to a central open courtyard which is lit at night and safe for children. On the other side of each bedroom, French windows lead onto a grassed terrace and to the salt water swimming pool .

The wonderfully large level garden has lawns to relax or play on and well established old trees give tranquil shade when the sun is too hot. The swimming pool is in a sheltered area within a walled terraced garden giving shelter from any breeze. There are no steps or staircases in the house or garden both of which are all on one level. The outlook over the Aveyron valley and river below is exciting.

The house is 14kms from Rodez and 20 minutes only from the airport. Villefranche de Rouergue and Marcillac are 20 minutes away and the beautiful and renowned village of Belcastel – just a short drive.

The village of Abbas has a delightful restaurant by the river and overlooking the weir.

A delightful house well worth considering.
