 Known as one of France's loveliest villages, Bargemon is situated in the department of the Var in southeast Provence at an altitude of 1,500ft. It is surrounded by delightful hilly countryside with olive groves and a number of vineyards, and the nearby Col du Bel Homme reaches to over 3,000ft. The village has an abundance of shady trees and cooling fountains whilst its medieval quarter provides a peaceful retreat from the frantic world of the Cote d'Azur; around a forty-five minute drive away. However it is still large enough to support a small supermarket, two boulangeries, a bank, several restaurants and cafes, a number of art galleries, a pharmacy, swimming pool and tennis court. 

We are pleased therefore to present this highly recommended delightful cottage set in an olive grove just below the village; which can be reached by a pleasant walk. Your life in Bargemon could be lived without ever needing to get back into the car.

The cottage is part of a small estate which is shared by a larger mas (old farm house) beautifully renovated and occupied by a semi retired couple who happen to be friends of ours.

The cottage has a bright and sunny lounge and dining area opening out through French windows onto its own private terrace with an electric sun shade. There is a well equipped kitchen with 3 burner hob and combination microwave oven together with a dishwasher and fridge. The lounge has comfortable sofas and chairs and a wood burning stove which, along with thermostatically controlled radiators, make it a delight to stay in even during the early spring and late autumn. There is UK satellite TV and a DVD player.

Through from the living area is an ensuite bathroom and a single double bedded room which also opens out to the terrace via French doors and has magnificent views over the wooded valleys.

The extensive grounds mean that visitors are never overlooked, and leisurely strolls around the terraced olive trees make way for varied views of this wonderful part of the Var.

The stunning 15 metre pool, which is heated to ensure a comfortable temperature into spring and autumn, is surrounding by a stone terrace and shared only by the house owners and family.

Apart from the Cote d'Azur, stretching from Nice and Monaco to St Tropez, being a comfortable drive away; the major town of Draguignan is a twenty-five minute drive and the French perfume centre of Grasse a little over half an hour. Additionally, and moving inland, the area of Les Gorges du Verdon (a National Park and area of outstanding natural beauty equivalent to the Grand Canyon - and unique in Europe), is within an hour's drive
