This delightful house situated just on the edge of Valady has been beautifully and lovingly restored by its English owners who up until this year have lived here permanently. Family commitments demand them taking up residence in the UK.
Valady is a small village just on the edge of the Vallee du Lot area and is surrounded by Marcillac vineyards on rolling hills and river valleys. Rodez with its airport is 20 minutes away.
Valady boasts a good restaurant and wonderful Saturday evening market for wine and bread and other local groceries and produce. The nearest shops and bank is at St Christophe just 5 minutes in the car.
The house has beautiful views through a large mature garden to the Aveyron, Southern France hills beyond. A safe 10x6 metre swimming pool with a diving board is in the garden .There is secure parking for several cars.
One enters the house from the parking area, through the garden into a very large well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and electric oven and gas hob. Through the open plan kitchen is a spacious light and airy dining room with sliding picture windows out to the garden and the pool. The kitchen and dining area have underfloor heating. Also on this level is a cloakroom with toilet and wash basin.
Up on the next level is a very comfortable well appointed sitting room with centrally heated radiators and a wood burning stove. UK satellite TV can be viewed here. Leading from the lounge is a balcony which is ideal for sunny breakfast times. One end of this lounge is a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, bath and double wash basins. At the other end a door opens into the main bedroom with a modern double four poster bed. Also on this level is a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier and ironing facilities.
On the next floor the stair case opens out into a large occasional bedroom which can easily accommodate a seventh guest if required (but at extra cost). This area also has a pool table and French TV and DVD player. At one end of this area is the second double bedroom with twin beds and the other end is the third bedroom with a double bed.
Marcillac has a supermarket and wonderful Sunday market and many bars and restaurants. Belcastel, Conques and the Tarn gorges are all fantastic places to visit within easy reach and Rodez with its dramatic cathedral perched on top of the hill surrounded by its walled city with its well appointed shopping, is a place worth spending some time.
This is a wonderful holiday house, so well appointed and comfortable that it is suitable for renting throughout the year. You will not be disappointed.
