The studio appartment of Maison du Gallois is a recent conversion of the ground floor with its own terrace, barbeque and parking space. It is situated on the top of a hill between Nauviale and Plateau d’Hymes with views of about 100km to the mountains of the Aubrac. The house is not overlooked and the only two neighbours are each over 600m distant. It is a haven of tranquillity for those who just wish to chill out, but ideally placed for those who wish to do and see more of this glorious part of France.

From the terrace one enters the main entrance and into the open plan well-appointed living room with very comfortable sofa bed and easy chairs. Satellite TV and a DVD player are provided. The dining area seats four people with ease and kitchen is well appointed with modern appliances. The main bedroom has a large double bed and opposite the brand new bathroom has a bath cum shower. There is central heating throughout making the property ideal during the colder months of the year.

There is a large sunny terrace with table and chairs and surrounded by a well kept garden - all have wonderful views over the dramatic countryside. The new swimming pool for sole use of the visitors is 8 meters long and 4 meters wide. A BBQ is in the garden.

St Cyprian sur Dourdou is the closest village with basic facilities and is some 5km to the north. Marcillac is the nearest market town, some 12km away, and it can provide for most needs. The capital of Aveyron, Southern France, Rodez is some 30 km. Rodez is a large city with all facilities. There are excellent restaurants within 15 km: one, Le Vieux Pont, is a Michelin starred establishment. Some 10km away, in Valady is the Auberge d’Ady which will surely soon earn its first star. Within about an hour are the Grandes Causses, where the Tarn, the Mejean and the Jonte meet. These three rivers have dug deep gorges north-east of Millau where the new suspension bridge, designed by Sir Norman Foster, graces the valley and beautifies the Autoroute. Every activity you may want to pursue is similarly close by, from a Childrens Adventure Park to Go Karting on the one hand to Theatres and Grand Sites of France on the other. The huge lake, Lac Paraloup, is 40 mins away where all forms of aquatic activity are on hand.

The nearest railway station is St Christophe Vallon, some 10 mins away, and it serves and is served to and from Paris by direct daily sleeper (dep 23h00 arr 07h00) and has connections to Rodez and Toulouse too. Airports are Rodez 20mins and Toulouse 2 ¼ hours. The ski resorts are a little over an hour away and the studio is available all year round. It is ideally situated for walking and site seeing in the autumn, winter and spring as well as during the summer.

The owner is available, by private arrangement, to guide you on some walks in the Lot valley or further afield. He will be available to assist in any way should the need arise. He speaks English, French and German.

The Studio is ideal for two adults with a possibility of an additional two guests on the sofa bed and is at the very centre of an area with exceptional facilities.
