Manoir de la Jonquiere
Overlooking the deep valleys of the Var and to Bargemon beyond is the beautiful Manoir de la Jonquiere sitting majestically in its own secluded 2.5 acre grounds. The original Provencal Mas sleeps up to 8 people and has been refurbished and decorated to a very high standard. It is accessed by its own 150 metre driveway, off a quiet local road.
The house was beautifully renovated and restored in 2005, and yet sympathetic to the outstanding natural beauty of the region, and is very comfortably furnished to easily accommodate up to 8 people.
The villa is situated 8 minutes drive from the medieval village of Bargemon and offers complete privacy. There is a large terrace, ideal for outdoor dining and relaxation, and a heated swimming pool.
The accommodation consists of an open-plan living/dining area with an enormous inglenook fireplace. A separate kitchen and laundry room are located to the side. On the ground floor there is a double en-suite bedroom, and a twin bedroom with separate bathroom/WC. Upstairs is the master suite, and a further double bedroom with en-suite.

Living Area
Manoir de la Jonquiere has a large open plan living-dining area centred around a beautiful Provencal log-burning fireplace which is ideal for early-Spring/late-Autumn evenings before the central heating is needed. This main living area has three large patio doors opening onto a large terrace, garden and the pool.
There are 2 sofas facing the fireplace with a satellite television and DVD player off to one side. English and French channels are available. A further sofa overlooks the garden.
There is a large oak bookshelf with plenty of books, DVDs and games for you to borrow. WiFi is connected and there is also an Bose iPod docking station.
There is a table with seating for 8 people, though most meals are taken leisurely outside around a solid oak table with seating for 10. There is a large Australian gas BBQ and 2 gas heating lamps.
The Kitchen
The villa boasts of a fully equipped kitchen with high quality units and beautiful crockery. There is a large American style fridge/freezer with ice-dispenser, an integrated dishwasher, a fan-assisted electric oven, and electric hob. There is an electric kettle, toaster, plenty of cutlery, pans and kitchen utensils.
The adjacent laundry room is equipped with a separate washing machine and tumble dryer. An iron and ironing board is also provided.
Bedrooms
There are 4 bedrooms, 3 ensuite, and one with a separate WC and bathroom adjacent. The layout is ideal for 2 families, or an extended family, with 2 bedrooms upstairs, and 2 bedrooms to the side of the house on the ground floor. 2 towels are provided per person and an additional pool/beach towel. Each bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer.
The master suite is situated upstairs. There is a generous Super Kingsize bed, a flatscreen TV (English satellite channels), and multi-region DVD player. The en-suite bathroom is beautifully tiled, and is equipped with a bath, rain shower over bath, WC, hand basin and large mirror. The double bedroom next door has a Queen size double bed, and an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, WC, hand basin and large mirror.
Downstairs there is a further Queen size double bedroom with en-suite shower room (walk-in shower, WC, hand basin and large mirror) and a twin bedroom with separate WC and bathroom (bath, rain shower over bath, hand basin) situated next door. All the beds have goose down duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets.
Pool and Gardens
The heated pool is 8 x 5 meters and beautifully mosaic tiled with steps at the shallow end. The pool has under-water lighting for that late evening dip and is fitted with a pool safety alarm as required by French law. The surrounding pool area is paved. Sun beds and reclining chairs with cushions are provided, and there is a comfortable sofa under the shade of the pool house which is ideal for afternoon relaxation.
There is ample parking for several cars including 2 covered spaces. A car is essential.
Activities
There is excellent cycling and hiking on your doorstep. If you do not bring your own bike they can be hired nearby. The beaches of St Tropez, St Maxime, Cannes and Frejus are within 45 minutes drive. (During peak season the journey time to St Tropez can easily double by car). Lac de St Cassien is within 30 minutes and offers wonderfully clear, fresh water swimming and kayaking. The Gorge du Verdon is within 1 hour.
There are several golf courses within 10km (2 x 18 holes at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tourettes), and further courses in the direct vicinity.
There are spas locally – a favourite is at the Four Seasons. There are several restaurants in the area ranging from Michelin starred to plain and simple establishments with children’s menus.
