Vielmont - FRENCH COTTAGE
A beautifully renovated small stone cottage perched on a picturesque wooded slope of the Dourdon river valley and river Lot beyond. The cottage is close to the historic village of Grande Vabre which has 2 good restaurants (well attended by locals), a boulangerie and a small supermarket. The village is situated at the confluence of the river Dourdon and the river Lot. From the garden there are dramatic views of the surrounding valleys and hills.
The house is owned by a French family who live nearby and are always on hand to help or give advice. The quality of the accommodation is exceptionally high and comfortable, comprising of a large split level living area with mellow stone walls and a dining area with a fitted kitchen at one end, housing a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob and microwave oven. On the upper level is the sitting room with sofa and easy chairs, a colour UK TV and a log fire with logs supplied. The main entrance door leads out to a terrace with table and chairs.
The ground floor has a WC and separate shower room with hand wash basin. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one has a double bed and the other has two single beds and French doors open out to a small balcony. Linen is provided for all the beds which have blankets. Upstairs is also a bathroom with bath, shower attachment and WC. Electric heating throughout. Towels are provided.
The pool is in a very sunny sheltered position with terracing and sun loungers. Adjacent to the pool is a pool room with a small bar and sofas. Washing machine is provided in a cellar room.
This property is very light and airy and sits comfortably on this wooded slope. It sleeps five with ease and comes highly recommended.
